Who does not need Visa to enter Algeria ?

Citizens holding an ordinary passport from the following countries can enter Algeria without Visa:

  • Libya, Malaysia, The Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, R.A.S.D, Seychelles, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen.
Holders of ordinatory passport from countries other than those listed above are required to apply for an entry visa.

Citizens holding a diplomatic or official passport from the following countries can enter Algeria without Visa:

  • South Africa, Benin, Brazil, Croatia, Cuba, Egypt, Ethyopia, Greece, Guinee, Italy, Malaysia, Mali, Malte, Mexico, Niger, North Korea, Peru, Senegal, Spain, Swiss, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, Vietnam, Slovakia, Portugal, and Argentina.
Holders of a Diplomatic passport from Germany, France, and Romania do not need a visa to travel to Algeria.

General terms, application procedure and fees

Depending on the type of Visa, the applicant is required to fill an application form and submit it with the necessary documents. Click on the visa type for more details about the required documents and fees for each visa category. Visa applications should be submitted to:

The applicant should bear in mind the following points:

  • The processing of the visa application requires two (02) business days.
  • Visa applications are accepted from Monday to Friday, from 9:30am to 10:45am.
  • The visa can be withdrawn from Monday to Friday, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. The visa should be withdrawn by the applicant himself or by a travel agent approved by the Embassy.
  • The Embassy issues single entry visa, two entry visa for transit, and multiple entry visa. Depending on each case, multiple entry visas are valid for a period of 30, 90, or 180 days.
  • The length of stay can be 30 or 90 days. However, multiple-entry visa holders cannot stay more than 30 days in each entry.
  • Applicants should make travel arrangements to Algeria based on the date of entry indicated on their visa.
  • Applicants should leave Algeria before the expiry date shown on the top right hand corner on the visa sticker.
