Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum on Saturday reiterated Algeria’s support of Libyan authorities’ efforts to restore political and security stability in the country and to reach a national reconciliation among all the parties of the Libyan people.

“I reiterate Algeria’s support for the efforts of the Libyan authorities, namely the Presidential Council of the Government of National Unity, to restore political and security stability in Libya, to achieve national reconciliation between all parts of the Libyan people, and to unify and strengthen the institutions of the State, ahead of the general, free and fair elections that preserve the integrity and unity of Libyan territory and put Libya back on track for reconstruction, prosperity and growth,” Boukadoum said in an opening address at the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum in Algiers.

The two-day forum aims to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Algeria and Libya and to examine bilateral partnership opportunities between the different economic sectors of the two countries.

The event was attended by 150 Libyan and 250 Algerian operators, representing different economic sectors, in addition to representatives of the various chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture and those of employers’ organizations and other government economic agencies.
