The National Delegate for Child Promotion and Protection Meriem Cherfi stressed Sunday, in Tamanrasset, the importance of the coordination between the different players in the field of child protection to achieve the expected objectives.

Accompanied by UNICEF’s representative in Algeria Isselmou Boukhari, Cherfi emphasized the importance of the coordination between the different players as part of what is called “service in open environment” for child protection, citing, among others, the judge of minors, the solidarity institutions and the physical therapy specialized centers.

The coordination between the different players will enable implementing the different legal proceedings aimed to ensure the preservation of children’s rights, she said on the sidelines of her visit to the establishment for children in care in Tafsit.

She also insisted on the proceedings aimed at reintegrating the children living in centers for children in care in families wishing to host them, after accomplishing the different necessary social investigations.

Cherfi’s visit to Tamanrasset came to enquire about the conditions of child protections in the region and to prepare, in the light of her visits paid to the country’s different regions, a report that she will submit to the Presidency of the Republic.

UNICEF’s representative in Algeria Isselmou Boukhari said that this visit enabled him to enquire about the achievements made in the field of Child protection and which constitutes a further work between the different administrations and authorities, in accordance with laws guaranteeing the children’s rights.
