ALGIERS-The new container ship Cirta, owned by CNAN-MED Company, has carried a total of 925 TEU (20 feet equivalent) during its maiden voyage as part of its activity on the regular line serving the main ports of the southern shore of the Western Mediterranean, the company’s Director of Commercial Operations Djamel Karaoui told APS on Wednesday.
Cirta has carried 925 TEU (20 feet equivalent containers), i.e. its full capacity, from European ports, said Karaoui.
The ship, which departed from Algiers, called at two ports in Spain, namely, Barcelona and Valencia before docking this morning at the port of Oran, said the source.
In addition, Karaoui said that Djane, the other new ship purchased by CNAN-MED, was currently in Italy for its second voyage.
Djanet has already called at Marina di Carrara Port and is currently docked at La Spezia Port (Italy), said Karaoui.
