Algeria’s embassy in France said Friday the acts of solidarity in the fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, initiated by the Algerian diaspora, are now subject to authorization for the delivery of donations.
“The Embassy of Algeria in France informs Algerian community associations, groups and nationals that acts of solidarity by the national community abroad, as a complement to the actions taken by the State in the fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, shall comply with some conditions,” the embassy said in a statement.
Those seeking to deliver donations should contact consular representations and request an authorization for delivery of donations, the statement noted.
The Embassy stressed that “the ministry of Health (Central Pharmacy) is the only recipient of the collected donations.”
“It is responsible for distributing medical equipment, consumables and pharmaceuticals collected according to its needs assessment at national level.”
It added that the delivery of the aid is shipped from the three airports of Paris, Marseille and Lyon.
